The PAF Angels

OUR TEAM

Say "Hello" to our Angels

Board of Directors

Every member of our board of directors is someone who knows the impact of cancer on families and friends.
Each one brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our foundation.

Terry DeCarlo - Founder and Executive Director

Terry has been a Realtor since 1987. She has the designations of GRI/CRS and has worked for the past 26 years with Bay Front Realty in Brick.  Terry lives in Brick where she resides with her husband of 32 years,Carmine and their two children, C.J. and Jaclyn. Terry has had years of experience fundraising in the past for many local events, and has chaired countless fundraising committees benefiting local schools and her church.Terry has lost two loved ones to a rare brain cancer. She started the Purple Angel Foundation after the funeral of her best friend, Jean, who lost her life to a fast-growing brain cancer at the age of 55. While receiving treatment, Jean’s only wish was to be able to escape the day-to- day medical treatment that was consuming her time, and spend a few quality days with her three children and their father. When Terry tried to research foundations that could make this wish come true, she realized there is a great need for providing wishes to adults with terminal cancers, who cannot make this dream a reality without financial assistance. It is her vision to see the Purple Angel Foundation fulfill many wishes for rare terminal cancer patients.

Theresa Simonelli
Corresponding/Recording Secretary

Theresa has been an elementary school Special Education Teacher for 26 years, and is a lifelong friend of the founder. She lives in Manahawkin with her husband of 30 years, Jerry; their son Anthony, 26; daughter Brielle, 24; and youngest son Nicolas, 20. When her friend Jean was undergoing treatment for a rare brain cancer, Theresa tried to find financial assistance for a family get-away that would provide respite from Jean’s pressing medical issues. She and the founder realized that there were not enough organizations to provide those experiences to deserving patients with rare terminal diseases. She hopes the Purple Angel Foundation can grant some time away from medical issues for those who cannot afford it for themselves, and create awareness of this need to the general public.

terminal brain cancer. Larry looks to use his background and skills as a professor of forensic science to assist the board with decisions regarding medical concerns of clients being gifted with wishes.
